Allergies
An allergy can be described as an emotionless reaction to foreign substances referred to as allergens that hardly affect most people. Some of the causes of allergy include pollens, dust mites, animal dander, cheese and other foods, bee stings, and drugs. An allergen triggers an allergic reaction through the immune system and it releases chemicals like histamines that cause allergic reactions.
Different people can experience entirely different symptoms due to the same allergen, and the severity of the reactions can differ greatly as well. They include sneezing, itching, running nose, skin rashes, and in severe cases, Anaphylaxis, which is a very dangerous reaction to the allergen and needs a trip to the hospital. Allergies do interfere with one’s life, sleep, job, or whatever activity one may engage in during the day.
